Send appliances to Cuba from Miami

Two ways to send them

Choose based on the appliance:

• Buy it in the Paketico store: the price already includes shipping to the door in Cuba. It is the most practical option for large or expensive appliances, and you can buy from anywhere in the United States.
• Send your own in a package: if you bought it here or already have it, we pick up the package at your home, within 100 miles of Miami. This works for small appliances that fit a package’s rules.

The rules for your own package

Each package must weigh 10 to 100 pounds and be worth no more than $800. The price is by the pound: for example, a 20-pound package costs $45.00 and a 40-pound one, $85.00. See every example in how much it costs to ship to Cuba.

When you create the shipment, appliances go in the “Durable goods” package, with no clothes or food inside. The same shipment can carry up to three packages, one of each kind, and pickup is charged just once.

These usually fit well in your own package, as long as they stay within the weight and value limits:

• Air fryer, rice cooker or electric pressure cooker.
• Blender, mixer, electric coffee maker, toaster.
• Table or standing fans, iron, hair dryer.
• Electric kettle and other small kitchen appliances.

Refrigerators, washers and AC units: better from the store

A refrigerator, a washing machine or a window air conditioner almost always weighs more than 100 pounds or is worth more than $800, so it does not fit in your own package. For these appliances, the best option is to buy them in the store, with door-to-door shipping already included in the price.

Sending a TV to Cuba

The store has, for example, a 65-inch Samsung Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV, with shipping to the door included. Available models change; check the store for what is there today.

Think about blackouts when you choose

With the power cuts, an appliance that uses little power goes further. A 50 to 80 W fan can run for hours on a power station; an air fryer or a rice cooker, which draw hundreds of watts while cooking, are best used when the power is on. All these figures are approximate; always check the appliance’s label.

If your family spends many hours without power, consider pairing the gift with a generator or power station, which keeps the refrigerator, the fans and the modem running during a blackout, and with solar panels to charge it without relying on the grid.
